This new eight-part series, sponsored by Northwestern University’s Racial Equity and Partnership Grant, will meet every two weeks, in-person for an interactive, learning, and action-based experience.
Led by professionals within the Evanston Interfaith and Chicago-area community, this workshop series will focus on improving participants’ understanding of how race, racial identity, the history of racism, and the four levels of racism pervade their everyday lives. The series will also invoke ways we, as an interfaith community, can work together to address and dismantle racism using education, assessment and organizing for change.
Designed to dismantle all forms of racism across Evanston, each workshop session will be 2 and 1/2 hours in length, with 1-2 hours of home activities, such as reading, journaling, videos, etc. The culmination of the series will allow participants to work collaboratively to create an interfaith racial coalition that will persist in tackling racial inequity across Evanston.

Below are the dates and locations for the workshop series. All sessions will meet on Saturdays from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm except for the kick-off/first session, which is from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
