Social Action

Social action is central to our values, our culture, and how we put our faith in action. It is the personal relationships of our community that exemplify gemilut chasadim, acts of loving kind.

Sheltering the homeless, welcoming immigrants, providing food & clothing for the needy, standing up for racial justice, and nurturing a healthy environment are among our many initiatives.

Social action brings people together to address problems inside and outside the walls of our buildings. Our action spreads into the neighboring community that we call home. Beth Emet values taking action to improve the lives of others.

The Social Action Committee creates direct, person-to-person connection that exemplifies gemilut chasadim, acts of loving kindness.

We work closely with Interfaith Action of Evanston to support the greater community of our neighbors in need.

Members also represent Beth Emet in community forums such as Environmental Justice Evanston Committee, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA), and Connections for the Homeless.
