Sheltering the homeless, welcoming immigrants, providing food & clothing for the needy, standing up for racial justice, and nurturing a healthy environment are among our many initiatives.
Social action brings people together to address problems inside and outside the walls of our buildings. Our action spreads into the neighboring community that we call home. Beth Emet values taking action to improve the lives of others.

We work closely with Interfaith Action of Evanston to support the greater community of our neighbors in need.
Members also represent Beth Emet in community forums such as Environmental Justice Evanston Committee, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA), and Connections for the Homeless.
Whether you’re able to volunteer your time or are able to support specific projects, like getting involved with the Social Action Committee, Beth Emet has plenty of meaningful opportunities to join in on. With your synagogue community, you can make a positive impact.
