Act

We believe in God, and we believe in people.

Act on your Jewish values while building community.

“The world rests upon three things, Torah, avodah, and gemilut chasadim.”

Pirkei Avot 1:2

With Beth Emet, you can act on your Jewish values while building community. We offer a wide variety of opportunities to serve others, stand up for what you believe in and get involved locally and globally.

From marching in protests, serving meals in the soup kitchen, to advocating for just housing laws, Beth Emet encourages us to create a better world and care for each other. By organizing, advocating, and volunteering, we can work toward tikkun olam (repairing the world).

In addition to the work that we do within our congregation, we also partner with other organizations:

  • JCUA
  • RAC
  • Interfaith Action
  • Dayenu
  • Connections for the Homeless

Beth Emet’s Social Justice Coalition engages the community through advocacy, direct service, and tzedakah.

As Jews, it is imperative that instead of accepting the world as it is, too often full of fear, hatred, and disengagement, we create the world we imagine it could be: rich with respect, love, and understanding.

We believe our community has a responsibility to live by our values of:

צדק (Tzedek): Righteousness + Justice

אהבה (Ahava): Love of One’s Neighbor and for the Stranger

רחמים (Rachamim): Compassion

חסד (Chesed): Kindness

הכנסת אורחים (Hachnasat orchim): Hospitality
