Introducing Beth Emet’s Dayenu Circle’s Blog: The Green Maven

Hello and welcome to our first post of The Green Maven! Created by Beth Emet’s Dayenu Circle and edited by members Chris Wynn and Sharon Smaller, this new blog is designed to: Inspire, Educate, Motivate, and hopefully Activate you to put more Green in your life. Not financial green, but environmental green (although, sometimes going green can help you cut costs as well!)

Our monthly blog will give you ideas, information, resources, and things you can do to make this world a better place, Tikkun Olam. As a community, we can learn from each other, so we welcome your ideas and questions. Please share with us your successes in your endeavors to “go green.”

Below are a few of the topics that are in the works:

  • A climate action resource list
  • Eating a plant-based diet
  • Going solar
  • Greening your laundry
  • Recycling 101
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle
  • Think before you throw
  • Think before you buy
  • Turning your yard into a native habitat

Ready to get started on a more green life? Try to do just one of these things in the following month:

  • Put a reusable bag in your purse or backpack, then you’ll have it the next time you go shopping.
  • Use a reusable water bottle and take it with you throughout the day.
  • Use a reusable coffee mug whether bringing coffee from home or from your favorite cafe.
  • Refuse the straw or get a reusable one.

These are all small steps, but as the quote goes: “‘It’s only one straw,’ said 8 billion people.”

Stay tuned and please look for us once a month in EmetMail. If you’d like to reach us with your questions or topic ideas, please email us.
