What are we doing when we pray and why is it so difficult? We will try seeing familiar prayers in a new light, experiencing prayer as poetry, love song, conversation, education changing our consciousness, a journey, or as a clarification of who we are and what we need. All this is prayer. We will also try accessing the prayers through different gates: traditional, musical, mindful, and even mystical approaches.

Yom HaShoah Photo Exhibit April 9 - April 12 In recognition of Yom HaShoah, Beth Emet will host a photographic exhibit from Zachor: The Holocaust Memory Project in the Crown Room, Thursday, April 9 through Sunday, April 12. The exhibit features powerful portraits of Holocaust survivors paired with brief reflections from their lives, preserving their stories and honoring their resilience. The project’s name, Zachor (Hebrew for “remember") reflects the Jewish responsibility to carry these memories forward and to confront hatred and antisemitism in our own time.
