On Saturday, the children decorated crowns and swung at pinatas in the shape of numbers “7” and “5.” Cantor Young led the community in celebrating Havdalah, ending with “Be the Light.” We ate a delicious dinner cooked by chef Julie Ratowitz, we drank festive drinks, we danced the hora. We grooved to guitarist Casey Nielsen and danced with the 10-piece funk, rock, soul, and R&B band Suite Mollie. We wrote on the Memory Scroll, we ate incredible homemade desserts. Our hearts are so, so full.
Many incredible individuals came together to make this celebration truly special. A tremendous thank you to Bekki Kaplan, and to our planning committee: Sandy Cutler, Caryn Etkin, Laura Glantz, Nancy Glick, Jen Goldfarb, Debbie Horberg Secemsky, Tamar Karsh-Fogel, Robin Langer, Elaine Lev, Jenny Maidenberg, Louise Motel, Rebecca Raus, Gita Weintraub, Georgene Wilson, Jane Wintroub, and Sam Zuckert.
