Ted Goldsmith

Ted is a former member of Temple Menorah, which joined Beth Emet in 2018. He has two children, Leah (Andrew) and Alex, and four grandchildren. Ted has a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan and a law degree from DePaul University. He is mostly retired as a lawyer, having worked for more than 20 years at the Chicago Board of Education as a staff attorney in the Law Department. This is Ted’s second one-year term as a Board of Trustee at Beth Emet. During his first term, Ted served as Co-Chair of the Safety and Security Committee of the Board. Ted has also been a supporter, and attendee, of many adult education classes at Beth Emet, including as a regular at the Friday morning Torah study group, with Rabbi London, and has been involved in the Social Action Committee and the Reparations Working Group. Ted also was a participant in the multi-faith trip to Israel, with Rabbi London, in 2019, and also has been involved in the Jewish Council for Urban Affairs (JCUA).
