Jody Litwack came to Beth Emet as its Executive Director in July 2023 with a strong background in nonprofit operations and law. Jody worked as a labor and employment attorney for Bell, Boyd and Lloyd in downtown Chicago at the start of her career, and recently left her role as the Director of Operations for the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning where she had worked for 16 years, helping to bring pluralistic, interactive adult Jewish learning to communities worldwide. Jody graduated from Boston University School of Law and Kent State University. She and her children, Zach, Samantha and Max, each became a Bar/Bat Mitzvah at Temple Jeremiah in Northfield and all were actively involved in that community when the children were young. After raising her kids in Highland Park, Jody now lives in Evanston and is extremely enthusiastic about returning to work in-person and being involved with a synagogue in her local community.
