We’re thrilled to announce that Cantor Natalie Young is the recipient of the 2026 ACC Ba’al Chazon Award for Vision in Sacred Music! The Ba’al Chazon awards recognize the wide range of the American Conference of Cantors (ACC) members’ cantorial talents. They highlight the broad scope of efforts made by Reform cantors both on and off the pulpit.
Writes Cantor Josh Breitzer, President of the ACC, “Cantor Young has used sacred music throughout her career to connect with every corner of the North American Jewish communal landscape. As a composer, songleader, and teacher, her groundbreaking work has earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues around the world, and inspires younger generations to consider the cantorate for themselves. Her holy artistry reminds us all of the enduring, transformative power of our liturgy when set to soulful song. Quite simply, Cantor Young is a model of what it means to be a contemporary chazan: owning and honing her musical expertise; constantly learning and growing as a practitioner and teacher; continually refining her artistic gifts and striving for excellence as a visionary weaver of melody, chant, and prayer.”
We couldn’t be more proud. Mazal tov, Cantor Young!
