A lifelong advocate for civil rights and fighting hatred, Hannah Rosenthal served as the US State Department’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism in the Obama Administration.
Hannah has been an advocate for civil rights and fighting hatred for her entire professional life. The daughter of a Holocaust survivor and a fiercely feminist mother, Hannah came to her passions for social justice naturally.
She has served as Midwest Regional Director for the US Department of Health and Human Services in the Clinton administration. Hannah has been CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, the Wisconsin Women’s Council, the Chicago Foundation for Women, and the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. She has been nationally recognized for her leadership in fighting for human rights and as a community organizer. She is now retired and living in Madison, Wisconsin, where she enjoys gramma duty as often as possible.
