Geoff Prass (he/him/his) was excited to join the Beth Emet family as Director of Operations in the summer of 2021 after serving as Operations Manager at URJ OSRUI (Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute). He has covered much ground during his more than 20 years in synagogue life and Jewish education.
He was Director of Education and Executive Director at Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Synagogue in Wheeling, making him one of very few people in the country to serve in this dual role. He also was Director of Education at Congregation Solel (now Makom Solel Lakeside) in Highland Park, Religious Principal at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, Calif., NFTY Northern Regional Director and Director of Informal Education at Bet Shalom Congregation in Minnetonka, Minn.
His Jewish camp experience not only includes a number of summers at OSRUI but also time spent at Herzl Camp in Webster, Wis in a variety of roles on senior staff and as education director. He has been involved locally and nationally in both the ARJE (formerly National Association of Temple Educators) and NATA (National Association of Temple Administrators).
Geoff holds a joint degree in Jewish Studies and Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota. While living in Los Angeles, he continued his education at Hebrew Union College, where he received a Certificate in Synagogue Management.
He is the proud father of two children and lives in Highland Park. They, like he, enjoy and love everything about Beth Emet.
