Were the Rabbis Pluralists? Jewish organizations often claim that Judaism is pluralist by pointing to the rabbis who produced the Talmud. However, the evidence of rabbinic pluralism is complex. In this class, we’ll sort through the question of whether the rabbis were pluralists.

BARRY SCOTT WIMPFHEIMER is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Law at Northwestern University. Wimpfheimer specializes in the study of Jewish Law and the Rabbinic Tradition, particularly in the Babylonian Talmud.
