Each year, Interfaith Action of Evanston honors Vision Keepers from our community at an Annual Fundraising Dinner, giving faith communities an opportunity to come together and celebrate common bonds of faith and service. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, October 25 and honors Beth Emet’s Helene Spak!
Helene Spak is a member of the Beth Emet Board of Trustees. In addition to her board service, Helene has participated in numerous leadership roles and activities at Beth Emet over the last 38 years. She coordinates the organization and sponsorship of Oneg Shabbat, Beth Emet’s weekly welcome for Friday evening services. She is a key member of the Inclusion Committee and co-leads one of the salon reading groups in the One Congregation Many Voices discussion program. Helene has served on multiple Nominating Committees and is a volunteer proofreader for the weekly newsletter and the congregation’s major print publications. Helene is also part of the organizing committee for the B’tzalel Arts & Music Festival, a multicongregational, community-powered creative initiative of programming throughout the year that will culminate in a festival day in May 2027.
Mazal tov, Helene!
