Soul Spark + Labor Day Shabbat with Speaker Ethan Aronson

We’ve got a soulful Shabbat coming up next week (August 29, 6:30pm), with our monthly Soul Spark service and Labor Day Shabbat speaker Ethan Aronson, Faith Community Organizer at the worker rights organization Arise Chicago. Ethan’s d’var is titled “God Does Not Retreat, Neither Will We: A Report from the Struggle for Labor and Immigrant Rights in Chicago.” Ethan (he/they) spent four years organizing Jewish communities around immigrant rights with Never Again Action. They are also a co-founder of the Jewish prayer community Higaleh Nah and the klezmer band Upshtat Zingerai.

In addition to our own talented musicians, we’ll be joined by special musical guest Alex Koffman, virtuoso violinist and musical director of Maxwell Street Klezmer Band.
