Rabbi Simcha Bob explores two often overlooked biblical books that shaped Jewish life as we know it. During this period, “Hebrew letters” replaced the older Paleo-Hebrew script, public Torah reading began with Ezra before the community in Jerusalem, and the Torah’s composition came to a close. Here we meet the first people to think of themselves as Jews, and see Jewish holidays and the calendar, including month names like Elul and Kislev, take shape.
