Dear Friends,
In the spirit of heart health awareness—and in celebration of one year since my heart attack—I’d love for you to join me for a special night of Israeli Dancing on Thursday, June 26 at 7:30 PM.
I wanted to share a little heart-to-heart (literally!). One year ago, I shared my story with our congregation, I was fortunate—getting help quickly made all the difference. This past year has been a journey, full of lessons about listening to our bodies and not ignoring when something feels off.
Along the way, I learned a lot about heart health and myself. One thing I wish more people knew about is the CT Cardiac Scan—a quick, non-invasive test that can detect early plaque buildup in the arteries—something to discuss with your doctor or share with loved ones. Prevention really is powerful.
Now, for the fun part—Israeli dancing! It’s been such a joyful, energizing part of my life, and believe it or not, it actually helped my heart grow new blood flow around a 100% blocked artery. Amazing, right? Movement truly can be life-saving and a total blast. So come dance with me and my wonderful Thursday night dance friends! No experience needed—we’ll have beginner instruction from 7:30 to about 8:10 PM, and it’s all about having a great time together.
As a thank-you, I will cover the cost of registration for a fun evening of heart-healthy exercise/dancing. You will also secure a free spot in an upcoming CPR and AED training class. Besides the dancing, which is only ONE part, I am setting up a GoFundMe page…for people to donate in any way they are comfortable. Each dollar will go toward the purchase of AEDs and training, which, in addition to Beth Emet, will be placed at other locations in the Chicagoland area.
Dancing is the exercise and the fun part. But my goal is clear. I need your help raising money so that we can all remain healthy and be prepared if an emergency arises. I hope you will click this link and donate with your heart and wallet. I can tell you it saved my life. If you can’t make it but would like to support the cause, I’ve included a QR code, or you can follow this link for your convenience in case you’d like to donate.
Let’s dance, celebrate life, and raise awareness—together.
With love and deep gratitude,
Lee
