In this session, Director of Lifelong Learning Lauren Reeves and Adult Education Committee member Doug Hoffman will explore Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt, examining the history behind the play and the Jewish world it portrays. Participants will learn about Jewish life in Vienna at the turn of the 20th century and the rise of antisemitism in Europe, providing historical context that deepens the themes and story depicted on stage. This session will also help prepare those who plan to attend the play together on July 19 as part of a congregational group outing.
