Beth Emet - The Free Synagogue

Beth Emet is a diverse, multigenerational Reform community with a dynamic approach to Judaism. Our congregation seeks to create a spiritually vibrant, socially conscious, intellectually challenging, and deeply caring environment firmly rooted in Jewish tradition and values.

Shabbat Connections continues to provide a complete Shabbat dinner on a weekly basis to members in the Beth Emet community. Recipients may be those who are suffering from illness, are homebound, had a recent death in the family, had a new baby, or have recently moved. Shabbat Connections is seeking new volunteers, especially cooks, to help prepare a meal and bring it to Beth Emet on Friday morning. Our volunteer cooks and drivers are the ones who make this program possible. The time commitment, whether on a regular basis throughout the year, or just once or twice a year, may be small, but the mitzvah itself and the thanks from recipients long after their meal was delivered, are much more. If you enjoy cooking, or have time during the day on Friday to a fellow congregant, we’d love to hear from you. Email Arlene Berke.
