The Advocacy Committee addresses the policies and laws that are the source of injustice in our world. Our work is driven by the belief that the world we hope for can come to pass. For that to happen will require the commitment of the many of us who are willing to amplify our voices by joining with others to take action and to be heard. Much of our activity involves targeted emails, letters, calls and attendance at rallies. For many activities, we work in partnership with other Reform congregations and Evanston-based faith groups. In the coming year, our efforts will focus on civic engagement (voter registration and turnout), supporting legislation to protect and secure the rights of immigrants, refugees and DACA recipients, and racial justice. We see our work as action driven and meeting–minimal. To add your name to the list of congregants willing to advocate, contact Judy Caplan, Jan Iltis, or Dana Green.
