Although the Reform movement is steeped in ritual/mitzvah expressions, it does not define itself as a halachic movement. However, halachah can help us gain insight into Shabbat and enrich our religious/spiritual lives wherever we see ourselves as participants and engages with Jewish life. Out of the nitty-gritty and fine details, large parameters of meaning can emerge. We will explore the least likely traditional prohibition of Shabbat in this context.
