SUMMARY:Religion and Literature
DESCRIPTION:We will explore different aspects of the relationship between religion and literature in contemporary novels and poetry\, including rewritings of biblical stories\, portrayals of religious life\, and characters wrestling with religious ideas and values. She is co-editor of the recently published volume\, The New Jewish Canon. She earned her BA in Religious Studies from Yale University and her PhD in Religious Studies from Stanford University. Her research and teaching interests include modern Jewish thought\, gender and religion\, and religion and literature.
