SUMMARY:Listening from the Heart: A Family Program on Dialogue and Empathy
DESCRIPTION:Beth Emet is collaborating with partner congregations JRC and Mishkan on a four-session program series for 7th–12th graders and their grownups exploring respectful dialogue about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the lens of empathy and personal story. \nWhen & Where\nJanuary 10\, 24 | February 7\, 21\n4:00–6:00 pm at JRC \nWhat to Expect\nThe Listening from the Heart program centers videos of Israeli and Palestinian bereaved families who share their stories to model heart-centered conversation. Learners will experience these narratives\, reflect on what listening with the heart means\, and build skills for engaging across difference. Lior Ben-Zvi from American Friends of the Parents Circle trained local facilitators from Beth Emet\, JRC\, and Mishkan who will lead the sessions. \nAbout the Parents Circle\nThe Parents Circle–Families Forum is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization of over 850 families\, each having lost an immediate family member to the conflict. Rather than perpetuate cycles of grief\, members have come together to transform their pain into a collective demand for peace\, reconciliation\, and a shared future.
