DESCRIPTION:State Senator Laura Fine to Speak at Beth Emet on Climate Change & Our Mental Health\nThis special Shabbat service\, spearheaded by Beth Emet’s Dayenu Circle\, will focus on our Jewish values\, which guide us in the fight against climate change and other environmental challenges. We are honored to have State Senator Laura Fine as our guest speaker who will talk to us about the intersection of climate change and mental health. “Eco-anxiety” is caused by fearing the effects of climate change and feeling hopeless. Senator Fine will share what can be done\, including meaningful actions we can take individually. Rabbi Memis-Foler will offer a meditation connecting us to the environment. Cantor Cotler will weave in melodies mindful of the Earth from our tradition and today. \nCome just a little early to the Climate Action Shabbat to browse the info tables in the lobby. You’ll learn more about what’s happening in the local environment and climate action scene. Participating groups include Dayenu\, Go Green Wilmette\, Environmental Justice Evanston\, Citizens Greener Evanston\, and Citizens Climate Lobby.
