DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we honor Beth Emet’s Vision Keeper\, Lisa Levine\, chair of Beth Emet’s Social Justice committee.  Lisa is an inspirational leader who has expanded our social justice work and was instrumental in engaging our community during the pandemic at a time when being involved truly made a difference… as it does now.  Not only is Lisa’s leadership characterized by empathy and sensitivity\, but she also has boundless positive energy.  She has fostered the development of many social justice subcommittees as she encourages and mentors others to bring their ideas to fruition. \nAlong with her social justice work at Beth Emet\, Lisa is a speech-language pathologist in the Evanston schools and stays busy as a mom of twins that are freshmen at ETHS. She\, her husband and their kids enjoy music\, board games\, traveling and camping. Lisa is an avid reader and she is also learning to play the bass guitar. In this class\, you and your little one will bond with each other and make new friends while we sing\, dance\, play\, pretend and experiment with instruments. Class is geared to kids 6 months to 2.5 years old and siblings are welcome to join! This program will take place on Tuesdays beginning September 5 through October 10\, from 9:30 am – 10:15 am. DESCRIPTION:The Sunday Morning Minyan is back at Beth Emet! This week it is meeting in the Sukkah. Please email Jonathan Hartman-Seeskin with questions or to be added to the listserv. \nJoin us on Sundays to daven (pray) the weekday Shacharit (morning) service!  First-timers are encouraged! Please note\, we will continue to Zoom as well for virtual participation. \nThe Minyan offers an intimate opportunity to pray with the Beth Emet community. The service explores our ritual\, liturgical\, and musical traditions in a welcoming setting for people new to prayer while providing a deeper connection for people with more experience. \nParticipants are encouraged to wear a tallit and tefillin. \n
