Margarita brings a culmination of 20 years experience in the workers rights and labor movement to Arise Chicago. She has experience training teams of workers to create workplace demands\, win union representation\, and make concrete workplace improvements. Having won awards for Labor Woman of the Year for the Chicago Federation of Labor\, 100 of Chicago’s most influential women\, as well as featured and profiled with the Chicago Tribune\, Margarita brings her experience and passion for workers’ rights and organizing to Arise. DESCRIPTION:S’lichot\, which takes place on the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah\, provides an entry into the High Holy Days through reflection on the major themes of the season—renewal\, repair\, and growth. \nThis year’s study will be texts related to the concept that the broken set of tablets traveled in the ark with the second set of tablets as a metaphor for our lives. As we approach these holy days\, how do we grapple with our brokenness\, our struggles\, and find wholeness and healing? \nThe study will be followed by havdallah and services beginning at 11:15 pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for joyful\, collaborative music-making with Nicole Jaworski and Jamberry Music! In this class\, you and your little one will bond with each other and make new friends while we sing\, dance\, play\, pretend and experiment with instruments. Class is geared to kids 6 months to 2.5 years old and siblings are welcome to join! This program will take place on Tuesdays beginning September 5 through October 10\, from 9:30 am – 10:15 am.
