SUMMARY:Kabbalat Torah & Gesher ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The Shabbat when we celebrate our 7th grade Gesher students and 12th grade Kabbalat Torah class is a beloved moment honoring our next generation of Jewish learners and leaders. During the service\, our graduating seniors will share reflections on what Beth Emet and Judaism mean to them as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives. The 7th graders mark the culmination of their Gesher year\, witnessing the older students model Jewish engagement in high school. After the service\, Gesher families gather for a brief ceremony where students share what they’ve learned about how Judaism and community can guide them as they grow. This meaningful evening highlights the continuity of Jewish learning from childhood through young adulthood. \nKabbalat Torah and Gesher families\, click here to register for dinner.

SUMMARY:BE Noar teen program for 8th-11th graders
DESCRIPTION:BE Noar is our program for for 8th-11th graders. BE Noar participants learn from a variety of teachers such as Rabbi Brian Immerman\, Director of Lifelong Learning Lauren Reeves\, RJE\, Beit Sefer teacher Rabbi Toby Manewith\, and other guest leaders on a variety of topics such as reparations\, Jewish food\, Jewish ethics\, Israel\, and more. \nWe also want the topics to be driven by what the group wants to learn! We ask teens for their input on what they want to learn\, so we can shape lessons and activities around their interests. We emphasize experiential and in-depth learning in our BE Noar classes! \nBE Noar does not meet every week\, recognizing the many activities in which Beth Emet teens are involved. In this way\, we hope that teens can “walk the walk” in integrating their Jewish involvement with the rest of their interests. In the 2026-2027 school year\, BE Noar meets on the following Sundays\, 12:00-1:30 pm: \n\nOctober 11\, 18\nNovember 8\, 15\nDecember 6\nJanuary 17\nFebruary 28\nMarch 7\nApril 4\, 11\, 25\nMay 2\n\nFor more information about BE Noar or other youth and teen programming\, contact Director of Youth Engagement Emmie Weprin.

SUMMARY:Listening from the Heart: A Family Program on Dialogue and Empathy
DESCRIPTION:Beth Emet is collaborating with partner congregations JRC and Mishkan on a four-session program series for 7th–12th graders and their grownups exploring respectful dialogue about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the lens of empathy and personal story. \nWhen & Where\nJanuary 10\, 24 | February 7\, 21\n4:00–6:00 pm at JRC \nWhat to Expect\nThe Listening from the Heart program centers videos of Israeli and Palestinian bereaved families who share their stories to model heart-centered conversation. Learners will experience these narratives\, reflect on what listening with the heart means\, and build skills for engaging across difference. Lior Ben-Zvi from American Friends of the Parents Circle trained local facilitators from Beth Emet\, JRC\, and Mishkan who will lead the sessions. \nAbout the Parents Circle\nThe Parents Circle–Families Forum is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization of over 850 families\, each having lost an immediate family member to the conflict. Rather than perpetuate cycles of grief\, members have come together to transform their pain into a collective demand for peace\, reconciliation\, and a shared future. The Listening from the Heart curriculum reflects this commitment to healing and dialogue. \nRegistration link coming soon. \nQuestions? Contact Director of Youth Engagement Emmie Weprin.
