SUMMARY:Evening Tea with U.S. Representative and Beth Emet Member Jan Schakowsky and Mayor Daniel Biss
DESCRIPTION:Member Registration  Guest Registration \nWith the election results and the political landscape about to experience a significant shift\, our U.S. Representative and Beth Emet member\, Jan Schakowsky\, will have much to share. Representative Schakowsky will be in dialogue with Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss as they explore topics that concern us all. Spend an evening with a comforting cup of hot tea (and biscuits!) for a thought-provoking conversation and an opportunity for Q&A (if you’d like to submit a question\, click here). We are blessed that Jan is an integral part of our community\, and we are fortunate to have this annual opportunity to hear from her. \n  \n

SUMMARY:RAC-IL: From Strength to Strength
DESCRIPTION:Register Here \nWhatever comes on Election Day and beyond\, we must be ready to come together as a community to harness our collective power as Jews to advocate for real\, lasting change. Rooted in our tradition of Tzedek Tzedek Tirdof—Justice\, Justice\, You Shall Pursue—this moment calls us to action and reflection. As we face the challenges ahead\, let us ground ourselves in our shared values\, work for equity and fairness\, and ensure our voices are heard in the pursuit of Tikun Olam. \nJoin RAC-IL at Beth Emet Synagogue\, via Zoom\, or at a congregational watch party near you for an inspiring gathering. This event is an opportunity to connect with others\, share ideas\, and develop strategies for the next steps in our commitment to social justice and collective responsibility. Together\, we will explore ways to translate our Jewish values into meaningful advocacy\, amplify the power of our community\, and make a tangible impact in addressing the issues that matter most. \nWhether it’s combating systemic inequities\, addressing climate justice\, advocating for voting rights\, or protecting vulnerable communities\, there is no better time to unite in our mission of Tikun Olam. We have the power to shape the future\, but only if we work together\, supporting one another and taking deliberate action. \nMake your voice count. Come prepared to share your ideas\, listen to others\, and be inspired to act. Together\, we can transform hope into action and create a better\, more just world for generations to come.
