Jewish tradition uses Midrash to answer the questions posed by biblical narrative and to fill in the gaps. We will study the Midrash of the Exodus and examine answers our ancient rabbis gave to such questions as: Why were the Israelites enslaved? Why was Moses chosen to lead the people? What role did the people have in their own redemption? Why are women so prominent in the Exodus story? Why the Ten Plagues? Why did God rebuke the angels at the Sea of Reeds? Add new perspectives to your understanding of the revolutionary event that gave birth to the people Israel.
