Do you want to learn to read Hebrew or improve rusty skills? Not sure of the prayers you learned to recite by rote? This new class will be taught at a slower pace than our traditional Hebrew language class. The focus will be on learning the letters and vowels of the Hebrew alphabet, printed Hebrew, and basic prayer book terms and phrases. We will also explore Hebrew as it connects to Jewish life, ritual, tradition, and Israel. Homework is assigned and students are encouraged to attend services to practice and strengthen what is learned in class. Open to students of all ages and backgrounds. The text, Alef Isn’t Tough, may be purchased through the Beth Emet school office, (847) 869-4230, ext. 308, or . Member fee $80; non-member fee $100 (class minimum 5)
